INCUMBENT CANDIDATE

Institution: Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center/Olive View UCLA Medical Center

Current Title: Vice Chair of Education

Reasons for wanting to join the CORD Board of Directors & Opinions and Priorities for the Board: For the past 12 years, I have been actively involved with CORD, serving on numerous committees, planning the annual meeting, and contributing as a member of the Board of Directors for the last two years. My career in program leadership spans 13 years, including three years as Assistant Program Director, eight years as Program Director, and now two years as Vice Chair of Education. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing emergency medicine educators today.

If re-elected to the Board, I will continue using my experience and passion to guide our specialty through pivotal changes, including the complexities of recruitment season, evolving Board Certification requirements, new program standards, and the implementation of competency-based medical education. I am committed to supporting CORD’s mission by fostering collaboration, equipping educators with innovative resources, and ensuring that we are prepared to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing educational landscape.

I believe that CORD’s strength lies in its ability to unite, support, and advocate for emergency medicine educators. By focusing on these core values, I aim to help our organization navigate these dynamic times and emerge even stronger. It would be a privilege to continue serving our community and advancing the vital work of CORD.
