The mission statement of the Council of Residency Directors of Emergency Medicine’s (CORD’s) is to “Lead the advancement of emergency medicine education.” Toward that end, CORD created the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine CDEM/CORD Special Issue in Educational Research & Practice (Special Issue) in 2015. The Special Issue has been recognized by PubMed since its inception. We welcome submissions related to education year-round in a rolling process. Accepted manuscripts are published online within 2-4 weeks of final submission to ensure rapid dissemination. All manuscripts published online over the course of the year are included in the January edition of the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine as the Special Issue. We strive to publish high-quality educational scholarship while providing supportive feedback to our authors, thereby supporting their development as scholars. Our hope is that this webpage will serve to facilitate your understanding of the Special Issue as well as our submission process. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
