Academy Member: hold active CORD membership and have a strong desire to participate in the Academy. Must be actively involved in medical education and scholarship for at least 1 year. Evidence of quality, quantity, and breadth of educational contributions should be demonstrated in at least one of the four Academy Divisions of Scholarship.
Academy Scholar: hold active CORD membership and have a strong desire to participate in the Academy. Suggested time frame of at least 4 years of active involvement in medical education and scholarship. Evidence of quality, quantity, and breadth of educational contributions should be demonstrated in at least one of the four Academy Divisions of Scholarship.
Distinguished Educator: hold active CORD membership and have a strong desire to participate in the Academy. Suggested time frame of at least 7 years of active involvement in medical education and scholarship. Evidence of quality, quantity, and breadth of educational contributions should be demonstrated in at least one of the four Academy Divisions of Scholarship.
Legacy Mentor: hold active CORD membership and have at least 15 years of active involvement in medical education and scholarship. Evidence of quality, quantity, and breadth of educational contributions should be demonstrated in at least one of the four Academy Divisions of Scholarship. A recognized leader in the field.
All Academy Members: Serve as role models, participate in a significant number of Academy events and meetings, participate in vetting ideas/projects, act as “think tank” on issues relevant to EM education, interact with the other CORD Academy members to create and maintain a high-level, proactive and effective education resource for the EM education community.
Academy Scholars/Distinguished Educators: Serve as mentors, participate in the selection of Academy award recipients, mentor Academy applicants and members in the development of their portfolios. Distinguished Educators are expected to lead Academy national presentations and/or coaching sessions.
Requirements for renewal: must meet expectations, including significant participation in Academy events and meetings, must submit updated CV/portfolio, demonstrating commitment to education in a specific Academy Division.
