Michael P. Wainscott Program Director Award

The Michael P. Wainscott Program Director Award is intended to recognize emergency medicine faculty who have demonstrated the below qualities and who have been a loyal colleague in the CORD community who have contributed to the development of emergency medicine education. Former and past members of CORD who have served in the program leadership positions (e.g., program directors, assistant/associate program directors, clerkship directors) are eligible to be nominated for this award. Any member of CORD can nominate candidate, and they will be evaluated by the Awards Committee on the following criteria:

  • Humanistic qualities
  • Emergency medicine program development
  • Innovation and change in emergency medicine education
  • Participation in CORD activities
  • Evidence of mentoring others
  • Love of teaching

Nominations Must Include:

  • Letter of Nomination explaining why the nominee should receive the award.
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Photo of Nominee

To highlight the importance with which CORD regards the development of excellence in the emergency medicine community, the recipient will personally be presented with a plaque during the CORD Academic Assembly.
