Emergency Medicine Collaboration with ResidencyCAS

For the 2025-2026 Application Cycle in Emergency Medicine, the CORD Board of Directors affirms the recommendation of the Application Process Improvement Committee and is recommending that all emergency medicine residency programs transition to ResidencyCAS!

CORD has partnered with Liaison International to create an Emergency Medicine Application in their ResidencyCAS platform as an alternative to the existing Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) application.  ResidencyCAS is the platform that OB/GYN transitioned to and successfully used during the  2024-2025 application season.  The CORD Application Process Improvement Committee (APIC) engaged in almost a year of research, evaluating several alternate platforms, and with the assistance of the CORD Board of Directors, have determined that ResidencyCAS is the platform best suited to meeting the needs of our specialty and our future workforce.

Please see here for the collaboration announcement and here for a detailed timeline demonstrating the work put into making this decision.

Please see here for some FAQs about the ResidencyCAS partnership.

Additional opportunities will be announced shortly. Check back here or directly with ResidencyCAS for EM specific training

Sandbox Access:

Sandbox access allows all users to engage in the platform in a practice environment so that they may familiarize themselves with the overall application and platform features.  Any information entered into this environment will not transfer over into the real application.

Programs:  All EM program directors and program coordinators should have received an email granting them ResidencyCAS sandbox access on March 2nd.  Program directors and program coordinators may add additional faculty members to their sandbox.  Please reach out to XX if you are having difficulty accessing or adding members to your sandbox.  Given the many features available in the program sandbox, it is suggested that PDs/PCs attend a workshop or webinar to guide you through the platform.

Applicants/Advisors:  You may create an account directly at https://residencycas.prelaunch.cas.myliaison.com/ .  There is no need for a secure access link or “token” from your medical school.  The live ResidencyCAS application will open June 4th.

Program Support Services: Contact ResidencyCAS at any time to obtain support!
